If you've ever been hiking, you've likely done so using switchbacks on the trail to guide you up the mountain in a more manageable approach than heading straight up. These switchbacks can be likened to the series of quests the Universe gives us as we climb this mountain of life, experiencing all the lessons that will help us remember who we are and why we are here. We finish one switchback quest, and then we get another. There may be times we hear our purpose calling, but we don't respond. Maybe it's like having the phone ring over and over, and we ignore it. Have you ever wished for or prayed for something and not received it? My whole life, whenever there was an unanswered prayer the people around me would attribute it to not being God's will. I am sure the intent was meant to help be supportive, but that isn't how it felt to me. Instead, it made me feel like God didn't want me to have what my heart wanted to have. And if I was ever to align my will to God's I'd have to let go of wanting anything or learn how to be happy settling for something less. In this lesson we're going to talk about how to reframe what God's will means. Too often when people don't immediately get what they hope for, they give up, believing the Universe doesn't want it for them. What do you want? What is the desire of your heart? This seems like a simple question, but it is surprisingly hard for many people to answer. Oftentimes, people are more clear on what they don't want than what they do. In this lesson, we will explore the importance desire plays in creation and hopefully shed some of the shame and fear that can keep our desires from ever bearing fruit. Have you received the blessings you already have in your life? It may sound strange to ask a question like that. If blessings are present, doesn't that infer we have received them? Not necessarily. In this lesson, we're going to explore what blocks us from receiving, and how we can more fully receive what we already have. Gratitude is an essential virtue for a joyful and fulfilling life, and yet, like all virtues, there is an important balance to maintain. In our first lesson, I mentioned The Abundance Cycle, and how receiving fits into this cycle, and I think it would be beneficial if we spent a whole lesson going over the details of how this cycle works, so you start to see it in action in all parts of your life. If we really get to the heart of what we each want, it's going to come under the umbrella of abundance. We each have something that our heart desires, whether that is an abundance of love, an abundance of opportunity, an abundance of resources, whatever it may be, we desire to receive something because we first believe we are lacking it. Part of what we are doing in this course is to open our eyes to the abundance we already have because this prepares us to receive more, which prepares us to give more, and creates a beautiful, sustainable cycle that keeps on receiving and giving. What Other People Think: Reclaiming Your Voice in a World of Conditional Love In this note, I’m diving into one of the most challenging parts of being a modern human: how much we care about what other people think. We’ve all heard the advice, “It doesn’t matter what others think,” and maybe you’ve even said it yourself—to your children, your friends, or your own reflection in the mirror. But it’s one thing to say it. It’s another thing entirely to convince your body it’s true. Often, the fear of others’ opinions keeps us from making changes, speaking up, or pursuing what we know deep down we’re meant to do. We stay silent. We delay dreams. We sacrifice authenticity. Why? Because we’re afraid. We fear rejection. And love and acceptance in our tribe is one of the most powerful primitive drives we have. But if we consistently abandon our inner wisdom for external validation, the long-term effects are far more damaging than the temporary discomfort of disappointing others. So in this episode, I’m sharing my journey of learning to care less about what other people think—and how this shift has helped me trust myself more deeply.
